Appointment today

Okay - everything in my last post is still true, here is another update - Dr. appointment today.

So, at my last appointment, the doctor said I wasn't gaining enough. It wasn't dangerous, but just wanted to check and today we had an ultrasound to check. And I've gained all the weight I need to - I'm sure that had something to do with my eating in Cincinnati mentioned in my last post :) and she looks good they said. Here are her stats :)

She's showing in the 90th percentile - that's average to big apparently
She weighs 4 lbs and 13 oz
She has full lips the doctor says (picture to the left is her face if you can tell
And she has long legs. Everything was measuring at 32 weeks, but her legs are measuring at 35 weeks
She is head down, so that's good - now if only they could tell us if she has curly hair, and what color her hair and eyes will be :)
Oh, and she's still a girl and apparently not shy. We'll have to nip that in the butt.

We're registered at the hospital and ready to go - relatively speaking. Everything looks normal and well. We also signed up for a child birthing class to learn all the breathing and what not. If there was anything I received at my two showers, it was ADVICE and graphic images...so I'm rereading some books and trying to be as prepared as possible, but I know it'll all slam me in the face when it starts happening.

Other than that, all is well! I still am clueless about blogging - just be glad I can add pictures :)

Just kidding...

In my last post, I started with "I'm officially in my 3rd trimester" - that was incorrect..which is just one of the many, many things I learned these past few weeks. Today I am 31 weeks and 5 days and babycenter.com says that I am NOW in my 3rd trimester. Either way, pregnancy is 40ish weeks - NOT 9 months, so just throw the months thing out and that's where I am.

Haven't had a ton of cravings - I think I've gained weight but popular opinion (including the Dr. says I haven't) but all the same, I'm definitely out of my comfort zone :)

August was a full month. Both Evan's family and my family threw a baby shower - one in Oklahoma and one in Ohio. It was WONDERFUL to see so much family, but short visits and definitely made us miss everyone. Both visits were more than information. LOTS of advice, lots of new information and it came just in time for the realization to sink in that we are HAVING A BABY in 8ish weeks. WEEKS.... crazy.

I would love to list everything we received at the showers, but it's too much and just anyone who reads this, know that 1. I feel incredibly lucky to have such amazing people in our lives that are so generous and 2. Thank you cards will come soon. Promise :) Here is a quick recap of the showers:

Oklahoma - Kristina and Kathy (Evan's mom and sister) threw this amazing shower. Got my favorite pizza, Uncle June was in town, people came on their lunch breaks - which was amazing and it was so, so great to see so many people. We love visiting OK, we really get to see the entire family almost every time we're there. It's driving distance, we can bring the dogs and this time, we had a cousin day at the Maxie's with Jessica, Brittany and Patrick - which was kind of amazing and might be one of my favorite visits to OK.

Side visit to Wichita - sweet Jen got MARRIED!! I got to see BParks and her GORGEOUS little girl

Cincinnati:

I loved eating Cincinnati food finally. I was there for less than 72 hours, ate skyline 3 times, LaRosa's, Adriatico's, YaGoot and UDF - I missed Frisch's and Cheap Mexican, but next time, we'll fit it in. Yes, I am proud that this much food was consumed in that little bit of time. I am not proud that I didn't get to see everyone. Only stopped by TAZA for a few minutes, hit up Riddle and the rest of the weekend (other than the shower) was literally hanging with my mom and my sisters stopping at various places - which hasn't happened in a long time and I loved it.

I finally met Leland - Ashley's little boy and he was SO good and SO handsome!

And the shower, at my baby sisters house, which is SO cute and just everything and everyone I love. It was amazing. And I'm super impressed with the stuff I fit in my carry-on suitcase to get back here!

The baby room is painted and everything is "in" there - but I don't really have a flow yet of where/how it should go. The picture looks super green, but it's not. I'm pretty sure I'll figure that out as I go and for now, just put it where I feel like makes sense...which nothing does, so that'll be fun. Evan has sweetly rearranged the room 1 million times for me and I don't know if it's exactly right yet, but it's getting there. In the meantime, we are trying to situate the rest of the house so that we can focus on baby only once she is here. So lots of painting, rearranging - craigslisting and other odds and ends.

One difference I've learned about Cincinnati vs. Houston - in Cincinnati, I used craigslist for EVERYTHING....everything. In Houston, the few things I've used it for (mostly selling) people are afraid of the "Craigslist killer" - I literally am asked about the CL killer every time I mention that I'm using Craigslist to get or get rid of things. It's funny.... oh, the south....

It's been over 100 degrees with no rain for at least 2 months. THAT has been reeeeally fun for pregnant me but today it was 86 and that was wonderful.

I feel like I had some real updates and I even looked through my phone at pictures to see if anything would trigger... and it didn't. So - this turned out to be more of a rambling than a real update and when my brain is fully functioning again - I'll put out a real update :)

Much love
