So I'm not announcing this via the web aka Facebook (I want to be able to tell people, not FB), but for the two of you that have confirmed that you read this on occasion, Evan and I are expecting! YAY!
We've started painting - NOT the baby room since we don't know what the baby will be, but our guest room is now painted and our office. It's the small things. Honestly, the whole "planning for a baby" is pretty overwhelming. Thank goodness I have Jess and Courtney. Two of THE most organized people in the world that just so happen to love me and have sent me e-mails along the path of their pregnancies that have helped me out greatly. No, we having picked a stroller or a crib or anything else. I literally have a list started that is a combination of things that Jess and Courtney have said are "must-have's" And they have the same car seat which makes decision making easy for me. Yes, I know I'll have to truly investigate this stuff sooner than later for myself, but it's great to have a jumping off point from two people I love dearly.
Other than that, things are normal. Charley is crazy, he farts less, but has a double ear infection that is making him bump into walls he's never bumped into. Nose prints on everything make Evan really happy :) but that's good training for a toddler I hear.
It turns out that working for a temporary company was perfectly timed. Unlike my kickass family, I am sick, sick, sick, sick and more sick. I'm coming up on week 15 so I hope that ends soon!
Moving to Houston has been amazing when it comes to Evan's schedule. He's always home which has been wonderful and such a change from our life in Cincinnati. He has been AMAZING while I've been a walking sick bag and I have no idea how you single moms ever did it. We are following that babycenter.com website that shows the size and all that stuff of the baby as it progresses and one week it was a blueberry. Evan said to me, if this is a girl, I'm going to call her my little blueberry for the rest of our lives. It was a very sweet moment.
We've had a ton of visitors which has been so nice and more to come. Can't wait to see Courtney, Aaron and Viv this June! We now have a lawn mower thanks to our awesome neighbors down the street. We were borrowing the neighbors across the street. We still use the kitchen scissors to trim the landscaping... but baby steps...
Pretty tame, but all in all...really great. Miss everyone!
